Ban on the use of polythen bags : Copy of the voted act

The district Magistrale of Chhatarpur vide order no. 12/dated 5/12/98 has banned the use by way of purchasing or selling of polythene bags in the Nagar Panchayat area of Khajuraho seeing its ill-effects towards man & environment.

Therefore all the inhabitants are expected not to use polythene bags in Khajuraho under any circonstances after 25 th may 2002.

Any trader or citizen found guilty of using polythene shall face action under section 144-1 of Indian Penal Code.

His registration shall also stand cancelled and action shall also be taken under M.P.shop Establishment Regulation of 1958 and M.P. Food Adulteration Regulation of 1956 and 1962.

Besides, traders shall be fined Rs. 500, and other citizens Rs. 50 on using polythene bags. All those getting offected by the ordinance cue requested to use paper & cloth bags for shopping and other purposes.
